One-to-One Services
Please call Laura on 0770 332 7330 at your appointment time to indicate when you're ready to begin our discussion.
An initial consultation for mental health professionals looking for a new Clinical Supervisor. Consultations last for up to 45 minutes and give us a chance to meet, discuss areas you would like to explore through supervision, and to find out if the service would be a good fit for you and your needs.
This is an online appointment. Google Meet will be booked automatically for us via the booking page (which can be found in your booking profile or confirmation email), but please contact me directly if you would prefer a Whatsapp, FaceTime, Microsoft Teams or phone session instead. You do not need to bring anything, but often a paper and pen can be a great starting tool for creativity and jotting things down. For phone sessions, simply call Laura on 0770 332 7330 at the time of your appointment when you are ready to start. Supervisees are gently reminded that sessions must start and finish on time; please contact Laura if you are running late to your appointment and it is safe to do so.

As Thrive at BDT is a therapeutic service, a brief, online consultation is needed to ensure the service is suitable for your needs. This gives us a chance to meet, discuss your reasons for seeking Thrive and ask any questions you may have about the service before we agree if the programme would be suitable for you. If not, I may be able to signpost you to other services where appropriate.
Please note, therapy services and 'Thrive at BDT' are two different services to meet different needs. The groups are not suitable for those who are interested in working with me as their therapist or have done so in the past, as this requires a different relationship and greater holding need. If you are unsure which service would best suit you, please feel free to book a Thrive meet (or Therapy Consultation if you feel you need more time) to discuss which service would best suit your needs.

A creative and expressive writing group for people interested in ‘getting it all out on the page’. During my early years as a therapist, I worked as a creative writing lecturer, and became a bit obsessed with how writing our own stories (both fictional and non-fictional) helps us understand our inner worlds more clearly, as does dramatherapy. This is a therapeutic writing group to promote inner reflection and support, rather than the writing being ‘good’. Sharing is entirely optional, and feedback is only given on what we’re are focusing on: how it made us feel. Headphones are welcome, as are all mediums of near-silent writing (no audible keyboards please).

When someone becomes a mum, they take on a new, important role. This is a creative, coffee-morning style space for Mums with babies under a year old to have the opportunity to be creative, or relax and share or listen with a drink, whilst we reflect on how this new role and identity is for you, and a place to reflect on your own needs. Your babies are welcome, we are currently fundraising for a play area for them in the room. This space is for you to fill your own (tea) cup, because, simply, when we can effectively care for ourselves, it increases our capacity to care for others.

On Fridays I go for a gentle walk and litter pick around my local area. Anyone wanting to join me for a walk is welcome! I am happy to talk about the services Bristol Dramatherapy offers to those interested. When the weather isn’t ideal, I still welcome people to pop in and have a chat and see if anything offered can suit their needs. No need to book, just turn up if it’s in the calendar!

A drama group dedicated to exploring, acting, and creating characters in order to understand ourselves more openly, and have fun, build confidence and make connections in the process! Often we find comfort and understanding in the characters in our books or streaming services, but here we become them, or create our own! This is a creative therapeutic group for confidence, emotional awareness and expression rather than focusing on being a good performer.

A focusing, grounding space for busy minds to check in and ground themselves in order to focus on what’s really important, or next steps. Here I share activities and techniques* from my past experience as a mental health mentor, enabling people to breathe, take a step back, see through the mental clutter or stop avoiding when they have stuff they want to do.
For those experiencing:
- Feelings of stress, overwhelm, or feeling a bit lost.
- When life is more stressful than usual
- Busy minds or scattered thoughts

This is a therapeutic movement group dedicated to body positivity, confidence, and feeling good in your body. This includes checking in with feelings we hold in our bodies, which can be easy to ignore when life gets busy or our minds are full, and working with said feelings so we can feel more of what want to feel.

These relaxed, coffee-morning style spaces are for those who play certain ‘roles’ within their work. For some of us, we spend a great deal of our waking lives in these roles, so when we have obstacles and worries related to them, and those in our personal life can’t understand, it can feel a bit lonely. It can also be beneficial to have a space to reflect on said ‘role’ where you are never required to be in it, as this space is for you.
Together, we explore how we can use experience, networking, mutual support and signposting (all the while having the opportunity for creativity, or simply listening and/or sharing with a cup of tea or coffee). We focus on how we can support our own wellbeing whilst bringing our best selves to our roles. Here, you can express concerns and be supported by like minded humans.

Please do not enter the building before the collection time as I may be in session. Any artwork still kept at the Bromley after 14 days of creation will be respectfully and confidentially destroyed.
